Ian Turnbull came with his wife Rosie and their three children to join the Foundation in 1983. He worked as a geologist in Canada but preferred the all-round and rounded life of community. Of working in the kitchens, sharing the dreams and ambitions of this place, taking the time to build a wee devotional chamber, the Nature Sanctuary, and then the Singing Chamber. He likes to sing often with others. He has a profound interest is the nuclear subject, worked at Dounreay and sees the Atomic World as far more social and sentient than the scientific approach is able to determine, and in need of our loving attention.
